What is a Workshop?
The UNM Health Professions Symposium has over eighty workshops for you to choose from! These workshops have topics ranging from getting ready for a pre-health track in college to having families in medical school, and everything in between. Workshops are also a great way for interested individuals to learn about other careers in healthcare such as population health, medical laboratory sciences, and dental hygiene (and many more!). With so many great workshops this year, it can be hard to choose which ones to attend. So be sure to look through the workshops below and plan ahead!

Health Apprenticeship: A Model for Transforming and Diversifying the Healthcare Workforce
Casa de Salud and our Health Apprenticeship program focus their training on helping patients in our South Valley clinic. We help students with the skills on how to engage themselves in direct patient care. Hands-on experience is a vital component to any student who hopes to enter into a professional medical training program and Casa de Salud can provide this important step.
